Setting Foot in Chile

My journey began at Dulles airport with a delicious Potbelly Wreck sandwitch. 14 hours and -60 degrees F later, I have arrived in Chile. The plane came in just at sunrise giving a grand view of the largest peak in all of Chile (seen here more or less in the sun). The immigration was a piece of cake except for the $130 reciprocity fee (we charge Chileans to go to America, so they get even with anyone they can). Taxistas were in no short supply, so bargaining was quite easy. I made it to the Hostel de Santiago just in time for some breakfast (bread and jam).

The breakfast was nothing special, but the company was. It was the most multi-lingual table I´ve ever been at. Words were flying in Spanish, English, German, French, and occationally Portugese. I´ve been informed of a big football game in the city today between the local universities. More on that to come.

Having a good time and missing everyone very much :)
